Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has released the official music video for Already Falling, featuring his wife, Chioma Adeleke, in a romantic visual that celebrates their relationship and revisits one of the defining themes of his love songs.

Released on Wednesday, October 28, the video has attracted attention from fans who have followed the couple’s relationship through Davido’s music, particularly his 2018 hit Assurance.

Directed by Meji Alabi, the new production combines elaborate European scenery, elegant costumes and intimate moments between the couple. Its most memorable scene shows Davido kneeling beside a lake and opening a ring box in front of Chioma.

Although the scene resembles a marriage proposal, it is a cinematic recreation of their commitment. The couple are already married, so the sequence is not an announcement of a new engagement.

A New Chapter After ‘Assurance’

For many fans, the release recalls Assurance, the 2018 song Davido dedicated to Chioma when they were dating. Chioma also appeared in that music video, making it one of the most recognisable romantic moments in the singer’s career.

Nearly eight years later, Already Falling revisits that theme from a different stage of their relationship.

The new video follows Davido through the grounds and interiors of a French château before bringing Chioma into the visual narrative. Scenes featuring a red convertible, elaborate outfits and a royal-style portrait reinforce the video’s romantic atmosphere.

The closing imagery presents the couple in traditional-inspired attire, giving the production a visual connection to African royalty and cultural identity.

The Story Behind the Song

Already Falling appears on Davido’s sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, released on July 31, 2026.

The song blends Afrobeats with English, Yoruba and Nigerian Pidgin, expressing affection and a willingness to commit to a partner. It also draws on the musical legacy of Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love, incorporating a reference to the familiar song.

The production credits include Classic and Sensei, while Peruzzi contributed background vocals.

Davido has described Already Falling as a continuation of the story he began with Assurance, linking the new release to a relationship that has remained part of his public musical identity.

Why the Video Is Generating Attention

Davido’s decision to feature Chioma again gives the release a personal dimension beyond its music and production.

Their relationship has featured in several of his videos, including Assurance and 1 Milli. The latest release continues that pattern while presenting the couple as husband and wife rather than as the young lovers seen in the earlier video.

The production also incorporates the luxury imagery associated with Davido’s partnership with Martell, combining music, fashion, visual art and brand promotion.

The response illustrates how personal storytelling can help an artiste create a memorable visual identity and encourage audiences to connect a new release with an established musical history.

What This Means for Davido’s Music

The release forms part of the continuing visual rollout for ORIADÉ as Davido celebrates 15 years in music.

His ability to combine romantic themes, Afrobeats rhythms and high-production music videos has helped him maintain a strong connection with audiences across Nigeria and international markets.

With Already Falling, he returns to a familiar subject while presenting it through the perspective of a more mature relationship.

Whether the video becomes as culturally memorable as Assurance remains to be seen, but its release has already given fans another opportunity to discuss the singer’s music and relationship with Chioma.
